Call hold provides for an opportunity during your current conversation to find out the other incoming calls and chose, which of them to answer.

During your current conversation the telephone will signal of the next incoming call. If you press the respective key (depends on telephone model), you will be connected to the caller without cutting off your current connection. And vice versa: during one conversation you can make another call. Being connected simultaneously with several numbers, you can freely switch from one conversation to another.
Depending on the telephone model, you can have parallel connection with maximum 6 numbers.
